Billie Joe Armstrong
Californian punk rockers Green Day played a show at South London's Brixton Academy in a rare "small" show for the band used to playing arenas and stadiums around the world as well as headlining the upcoming Reading and Leeds festivals.
The band tore through a set of hits before front man Billie Joe Armstrong spoke to the crowd about the upcoming 20th anniversary of third album Dookie. The band then played the entirety of Dookie to a crowd even more insane than they were before concluding with more from seventh record American Idiot before Armstrong closed the 2+ hour set with a solo acoustic rendition of their Nimrod hit Good Riddance.
Personally, this was one of the heaviest gigs I've ever shot and I'm surprised and relieved that both me and my camera made it out in tact!
